So this is what it feels like.

kidish:

MAJOR BLACKOUT. THIS WAS TYPED IN NOTEPAD.

Every first time will mark something, they say. And I’m pretty sure this will for years to come. My mother and two sisters were stranded yesterday for 15 hours straight, no exaggerations. We are six in the family so we’re like divided by two then. It’s a little bit of an advantage to have the two boys in the family with me at home but I was still worried, dammit! They were just in the car with not much food and proper lighting and ventilation. Although it’s already a mess here in the house I would gladly switch places with them just so they can take their dinner already. They ended up sleeping in the car, by the way.

My 9-year old brother fell asleep due to exhaustion, probably. It really was heartbreaking to witness your little brother freezing and crossing the flood and worrying sick about mom. I would have cried but I sucked it all up. I just hugged him the whole time so he wouldn’t be afraid (major blackout).

Before my dad even got here, he saw a man holding on to a tree begging for help from anybody. Dad really wanted to help since he was trained (air force) but how could he do that when he’s struggling as well? That man was very far away from him. And with the fast flowing of water, my dad could’ve been in grave danger if he intervened. That man was reported dead today. I couldn’t help but feel guilty.

The only thing I’m now sure of is that if ever this happen again, not that I want to, I am 100% positive that I would know what to avoid and what to do. Because honestly, this was also the most stupid day of my life. Imagine, I even tried to fill up 5 big containers with water thinking it would help! How lame can I get. But hey, that’s what panic can make you do sometimes.

Something tells me this ain’t over yet. I’m not being negative here. I am actually praying this would stop. But if there would be another one, PLEASE, PLEASE GIVE US MORE TIME TO GET READY FOR ROUND TWO.
